SN 2024ggi

Discovered 2024-04-11, SN 2024ggi, a Type II supernova in NGC 3621, 22 million light years distant, was reportedly 12th magnitude (m =12.0) when I first imaged it on 2024-04-20. At declination -33° it was just above the fence, not far from the Moon, and in a murky sky, but still easily imaged.
